Android looses "best camera" crown to iPhone

IPhone 8 and google pixel

When it comes to photography, iPhone takes a spark but we know that android has been taking the lead for several years(at least according to DxOMark's intensive camera testing) but with the launching of
iPhone 8, the tide seems to have changed.

Seems iPhone is fighting back as iPhone 8 and 8plus surpasses android for the first time in many years, no dought iPhone X will certainly be better.

With IPhone 8 scored 92 on DxOMark and iPhone 8plus scoring 94, they took down the best score on the camera reference publication. With the Google's smartphone pixel and HTC 11 taking the too scores at 90, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus scored 85 and 88 respectively.

There were improvement in HDR,  exposure calculation and the telephoto lens which is the main driver of score increase(according to DoXMark). Though the iPhone 8 is the best in matching the HDR performance of that of... the Google pixel

It was back in 2014 that Apple surpassed all the Android competitions in a given year and considering that the iPhone X packs an optical image stabilization and wider aperture to the telephoto camera, you would not be expecting less but a slightly higher score.

Competition being one of the things that helps make smartphone camera even better, and numbers not being everything, DoXMark tends to be a reliable reference  in the performance of camera phones. Considering a new Google pixel will be coming out soon and Samsung really has not made much, they'll have to take up the fight with iPhone next year.
